Orange Launches 42 Mbps HSPA+ Mobile Internet in Poland
Orange has deployed HSPA+ Dual Carrier across 648 base stations in 24 Polish cities, supporting mobile downloads of up to 42 Mbps.

Orange has introduced HSPA+ Dual Carrier technology in Poland, offering mobile download speeds of up to 42 Mbps. At launch, the service is available through 648 base stations serving 24 major cities, including Poznań, Wrocław, Kraków and Szczecin.
How HSPA+ Dual Carrier Works
HSPA+ Dual Carrier, also known as HSPA+ DC, combines two HSPA transmission channels. Each channel uses 5 MHz of bandwidth, allowing compatible devices to receive data over both carriers.
The network supports theoretical download speeds of up to 42 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5.7 Mbps. Orange plans to increase the maximum upload rate to 11 Mbps over time.
Access and Equipment Requirements
Orange mobile internet customers do not need to activate the faster service separately. Access is automatic when a customer is within the HSPA+ DC coverage area and uses compatible hardware.
The required equipment includes a modem capable of handling Dual Carrier connections. Orange identified the Huawei E372 as a compatible option, with availability in its stores beginning in February. When purchased with a subscription plan, the modem is expected to cost PLN 1 or more, depending on the offer.
Actual connection speeds may vary based on coverage, network conditions and the capabilities of the customer’s device.
