Remove EXIF data and image metadata
Strip EXIF, GPS location, camera, author and editing metadata from up to 20 PNG, JPG or WebP images in one private batch.
Remove image metadata before publishing
Photos may contain location, device and editing details that are not visible in the pixels. This tool decodes and re-encodes each image locally, producing a new copy from the decoded pixels without uploading the source files.
What is removed?
Source EXIF, GPS coordinates, camera model, author fields, comments and application metadata are not copied to the new canvas export. Re-encoding may not remove information visibly embedded in the image itself.
How to batch remove EXIF data from photos online
- Select up to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP images.
- Choose Remove metadata to create new image files on this device.
- Download individual results or the ZIP, then inspect the exported files before sharing.
What changes when a photo is re-encoded?
The original files are unchanged. Export retains the displayed dimensions, but JPEG and WebP are re-encoded and may change quality and file size. Color profiles, animation and other source features may not survive a canvas export. The browser can write its own technical export fields; this is not a guarantee that every metadata field is absent.
Remove GPS metadata from multiple photos without uploading
Select a batch and export new copies from decoded pixels. Source GPS fields are not copied into the new canvas export; location information visible in the photo remains. Download the ZIP, extract it, then inspect each output with a metadata viewer before publishing. This tool does not independently audit every exported metadata field.
Does removing metadata hide everything?
No. Faces, addresses, watermarks and text visible in the pixels remain visible. File names can also disclose information. Review the image and rename it if necessary; removing EXIF is not full anonymization.
Need smaller images? Use the batch image resizer. To add visible attribution, use the image watermark tool. Read our privacy policy and browser canvas export documentation.
